Dear assorted hackers and eth0 friends (please forward this to your hackerspace mailing lists),
Let’s do eth0:2020 online edition! Yeah i know, it’s not the same. But we can make it as ‘the same’ as possible! So this will be an even more DIY edition!
The event will start Friday october 23 around 18:00, and will continue until Sunday 25. Teardown will begin around 16:00 Sunday.
We plan to get a server somewhere running BigBlue Button, details will follow later this week. If you have a fairly beefy BBB server, please be in touch. We need several rooms, like the hacking area, talk room, the fonduere, the kitchen, a workshop room, lounge and the snoring zone. New this year will be a dedicated room for viral conversation, to keep the rest of the rooms 'corona proof' ;) If you can help organize this/set this up, reach out!
There is a wiki with potential for a schedule: https://wiki.eth0.nl/index.php/Eth0:2020_Autumn <https://wiki.eth0.nl/index.php/Eth0:2020_Autumn> and the schedule is at https://wiki.eth0.nl/index.php/Eth0:2020_autumn_talks <https://wiki.eth0.nl/index.php/Eth0:2020_autumn_talks>
Wristbands: Please prepare your eth0:2020 wristband and show it on camera to enter the event.
Bar: Please get yourself a sizable stash of suitable drinks. We will have a Revbank instance available through SSH for donations.
Dinner: We’re doing our traditional cooking Saturday night live on stream, so get the ingredients (below) and join in! Minimal cooking skills required. This time the spiciness of the dish is entirely up to you ;). Don’t forget to volunteer for doing the dishes afterwards, the more people help, the quicker it’s done! If you don’t like the dinner provided, you can always get takeout. Just like regular eth0!
Social distancing: We do expect you to stay at home or at least thoroughly distanced from people not already in your household. Lets make this a safe eth0! Stay at home and have fun!
Hope to see you there! See the packing and shopping list below to get yourself ready!
